Young Athlete Jump Start Program
Dave Wall, VP Baseball
Hello,

I hope that everyone enjoyed the holidays. This time of year is a relatively slow one for the HYSA Board, which gives us a chance to explore ways in which we can offer more to the youth of Harwinton. One such opportunity we're looking into is the JUMP START PROGRAM offered by the Parisi Speed School and Diamond Kings in Bristol.

This program, for athletes aged 7 to 12, is designed to build a young athlete's physical foundation and improve coordination & self esteem in a fun and friendly environment. Eight (8) one hour training sessions will focus on speed development, body weight strength training, endurance and flexibility. Group size for these sessions will be limited to 20-25 athletes to ensure that each athlete receives plenty of personal attention.

HYSA has been working with the owners of Parisi School to make this program affordable and we are able to offer this program for $96 per athlete. Please do not hesitate to register, we have 10 athletes already commited. The sessions will begin in early February and continue through March. The sessions will be held on Thursday nights from 6pm to 7pm at the Parisi Speed School and Diamond Kings facility in Bristol.

There will be a free 45-minute training demo at the Harwinton Consolidated Gym on Monday January 12th @ 6:00PM. All ages are welcome to participate, including parents. All that is needed is athletic attire, proper footwear (you will need to change out of street shoes) and a water bottle. You can participate in the demo or just watch to see if it's something your interested in.

This is one of the fastest ways to become a better athlete, whether your sport is baseball, basketball or soccer. Keep an eye on our website for more information and I hope to see you there. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at baseball@harwintonsports.org.

Steve Graboski, our HYSA President, will be taking all registrations and can be reached at president@harwintonsports.org.

Payment can be made in full or in 2 payments. Checks need to be made out to HYSA.
